- a liquor bottle lying in the well-trodden dirt path through the grassy park at the end of my block
- a white-wine bottle standing upright on a concrete block in front of a neighbourhood pub
- a few remnants of a shattered beer bottle strewn on the sidewalk not far from the wine bottle
I read the other day that Albertans drink more alcohol per capita than people in any other province. I believe it. These bottles emptied of alcohol were all the results of a Thursday night. Tonight, of course, I'll be treated to the results of a Friday night on my side of town: loudmouth jackasses full of alcohol.
