The sunset tonight was spectacular. It looked like that classic image of "rosy-fingered dawn," a giant hand in brilliant red stretching across the clouds in the Western sky. When I noticed it, everything I was thinking about was instantly replaced with the simple but immensely satisfying contemplation of beauty itself. At such times I could almost believe in God.
