From a journalism job board I keep tabs on:

Description
We are seeking three smart, energetic reporters, one for each of our urban centers, to cover the arts and entertainment scene, news, politics and lifestyle features for our alternative weekly entertainment magazine [Here].

The successful candidate should demonstrate a vast knowledge of music, film, and popular culture and should also have a keen interest in issues that are of interest and concern to readers within the 18-24 years demographic. You must be highly attuned to a younger demographic while always keeping the values of quality, top-notch journalism top of mind.

Qualifications
  • Daily, weekly or campus newspaper reporting experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in researching, reporting and writing stories deadlines;
  • Top-notch communication and organizational skills;
  • A valid driver’s license;
  • A university degree or college diploma in journalism;
  • Fluency in French and photojournalism experience will be considered significant assets.

I would have thought that "the values of quality, top-notch journalism" would include proofreading, and that fluency in English would also be considered a significant asset. Wrong on both counts, I guess.
