Electile dysfunction

Yesterday the Alberta government "dropped the writ," calling an provincial election for March 3. As an Albertan and a firm believer in the ideals of democracy, I consider it my solemn duty to support this process in whatever small way I can.

Here, then, are my suggested slogans for the candidates:

Ed Stelmach, Premier
"Please make me your first choice this time."

Kevin Taft, Alberta Liberal Party
"All we are saying is give me a chance. Seriously, that's all we've got."

Brian Mason, Alberta NDP
"Social programs, health care, education, yadda yadda."

Paul Hinman, Wildrose Alliance
"I've never heard of me either, but if I get in, everyone gets a white Ford half-ton."

Hahahahaha, that's awesome! A bunch of no-personality suits show up with "please pick me" on their signs... to run the province full of nutty rednecks in their Canadian Tuxedos and displaced, no-neck Easterners.

Doesn't the last guy look like Mike Sobel the guy who does weather on Global in the Morning? He used to host cartoons on Saturday afternoons on ITV. We hated him growing up because he'd always yak and interrupt the cartoons.

If this line up doesn't inspire you to go vote, well... you're screwed either way.

If Taft gets any votes, it's only because he appeals to fans of Joe Piscopo.
