Game of the year (so far)

I went three for three against this opponent. Not exactly a tough feat, given the hundred-point difference in our ratings, but remarkable for the way the final game ended. When I play chess online, I typically set the clock for four or five minutes a side—too fast to allow for much in the way of tactical fireworks. But in this game, down on pieces but ahead on the clock, I took time to look for a way to keep my win streak alive. Eventually I saw the mate, four moves and a double rook sacrifice down the line. All that remained was for him to take the bait.
