Last night I was cussed out by an opponent after beating him at online chess. This was by no means unusual—the game of kings as played online is largely a game of unruly peasants—but it was funny, because the guy cussed me out in French.
I've been cussed out in English more times than I can count, and a few times in Spanish, but never in French.
I remember enough French from high school that I got some of the gist: something about my mother making money in a whorehouse. I also remember enough French that I was able to offer this cheerful reply: "Je ne parle pas francais. Au revoir!"
